Case Number: 20013713

Date Reported: 11/8/2020 at 2:02 PM

Incident: Fire

Location: 8150 Dairy Drive SW - rural Kensington

Case Details:

On the above date and time, Fernholz called 911 to report a fire at his farm. He reported hay bales were on fire and spreading to bags of corn. The strong south winds continued to spread the fire to the north igniting additional hay bales, grass, and eventually a mobile home. The Hoffman and Kensington Fire Departments responded and soon requested mutual aid from the Brandon, Evansville, and Garfield Fire Departments. The mobile home was a complete loss, and a vehicle and skid steer sustained fire and water damage. The Red Cross was called to assist the occupants of the mobile home and the State Fire Marshal's Office was contacted for assistance. It's believed the wind re-ignited a previous fire in a burn area that was near the hay bales. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, MN State Patrol, and Hoffman Ambulance responded as well.

Officer: Sgt. Ron Boyden, #209
