Case Details:

Vehicle #1 : Nancy Roseanne Taft Age 38 (Driver)of Browerville, MN
Glen Gerhart Taft Age 49 (Passenger) of Browerville, MN
Joseph A Slabaugh Age 71 (Passenger) of Long Prairie, MN
Vehicle #2 : Timothy Grant Olson Age 71 (Driver)of Grundy Center, IA
Robin Denise Olson Age 66 (Passenger) of Grundy Center, IA

Details: On the above date and time, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls of a personal injury crash located on Interstate 94 at the Osakis interchange. Reports were of serious injury and one-person unconscious.Initial investigation shows that the first vehicle, an Oldsmobile Silhouette van driven by Nancy Taft, had been eastbound on I94. Taft was attempting to exit at the Osakis off ramp and had stopped in the right-hand lane waiting to merge due to other traffic. The second vehicle a Chevy Silverado pickup towing a single axle trailer collided with Taft as she was stopped in traffic. The pickup was being driven by Timothy Olson who estimated his speed at 60 mph due to towing the trailer. Nancy and Glenn Taft were taken to Alomere Health via North Ambulance. Timothy and Robin Olson were also taken to Alomere via North ground ambulance. Their injuries are not believed to be serious or life threatening. Joseph Slabaugh was seated in the back seat of the Oldsmobile Silhouette and had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicle by Osakis Fire Department. He was flown from the scene due to his injuries by LifeLink III Air Ambulance. His condition currently is unknown.
