Veteran and Recorder's Offices Expand Services, License Bureau Adds Hours

More services are now available to Douglas County residents and visitors as we keep public health a top priority.

Douglas County License Bureau

The Douglas County License Bureau is now open longer hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays. As of Wednesday, June 10, the license bureau is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motor vehicle renewals and transfers are available at the counter. Drivers License renewals are by appointment only. Douglas County Recorder

The Douglas County Recorder’s office has resumed passport acceptance services, effective immediately, via appointment only.  Appointments may be made by calling their office at 320-762-3877 or scheduling online at

While the Recorder’s Office is open and accepting applications, the U.S. Department of State continues to urge applicants to wait until normal passport processing has resumed.  All passport applicants should expect significant delays due to COVID-19.  More information can be found at

Douglas County Veteran Services Officer

Transportation to medical appointments at the Minneapolis, St. Cloud and Fargo VA medical facilities has resumed. Only two passengers will be allowed per trip. You must make an appointment in advance by calling the Veteran Services Office at 320-762-3883. Cloth face coverings are required, no food is allowed in the van and only covered beverage containers will be permitted.
