Date Reported: 05/29/2020 at 1033 hours

Incident: Water Rescue

Location: Lake Geneva

Complainant/Victim: Chester Leroy Turner, age 71 of Alexandria, MN

Case Details:

On 05/29/2020 at approximately 10:33 pm, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a report of a boat that was taking on water on Lake Geneva, near the south end. The Douglas County Deputies and North Ambulance responded to a near address on Freedom Rd NE. The Douglas County Water Patrol launched onto the water. The single occupant was able to swim to shallow water and walk to shore. Turner sustained no injuries. It appears the boat was overtook by the waves due to the windy conditions. The Douglas County Water Patrol recovered the submerged boat and towed it towards shore. The boat is marked with a orange buoy and will be removed as soon as possible.

Officer: Nicole Swanson, #220
